Senior Week Activities
The week leading up to graduation is often referred to as
Senior Week. Each year a variety of social activities occur
during this Monday-to-Friday time period. It is an opportunity
for classmates to reconnect during the week leading up to
commencement. The activities planned are completely up to
members of the class to decide upon. Historically, the events
have been organized by the graduating classes' former MDSG
officers and/or the fourth year student representatives to the
Commencement Committee. In the past, social activities have
included local winery tours, picnics and softball games, karaoke
nights, golf tournaments, Rock Cats games, beach trips, happy
hours, gatherings, games and barbeques at local parks.
The Commencement Dinner Dance is typically held on the
Friday evening prior to graduation. It is normally held at the
Farmington Club, Town Farm Road, Farmington, Connecticut, at 6
p.m. Each graduating medical and dental student is given the
opportunity to attend the dinner with one guest free of charge.
Additional guests may be invited for a charge to the student.
The approximate cost is $45.00 per additional guest. All
students and guests receive two beverage tickets and dinner. Music is provided by a DJ.
Awards Brunches
The Schools of Medicine and Dental Medicine hold separate
awards brunches at off-site locations prior to graduation.
Specific information regarding the locations of the awards
ceremonies can be obtained from the individual schools. The
Medical School awards ceremony is held midday on Friday while
